Financial support to benefit up to 139 students
with various disabilities.
Sherwoods Independent Property Consultants has announced that it has
recently signed a major sponsorship agreement for the "Help us build a
brighter future" Ramadan campaign of the Dubai Centre for Special Needs
(DCSN). The sponsorship, one of several projects under Sherwoods' corporate
social responsibility (CSR) program, aims to help DCSN create social awareness
about its operations and generate financial support from individuals and
corporate organisations in the UAE.
Focusing on the welfare of children with special needs, Sherwoods' Ramadan-inspired
charitable undertaking will benefit at least 139 students with various
disabilities who currently avail of Special Education, Multi-Disciplinary
Therapeutic Intervention and Vocational Training under the DCSN. Sherwoods
has initiated the program in line with the company's commitment to adhere
to its core values of promoting the welfare of its clients and the whole
society in general.
"Sherwoods has long been a socially responsive organisation, having
supported numerous charitable activities year-on-year. Our partnership
with DCSN marks another important milestone in our CSR program and in
our mission to reach out and offer moral and financial support to underprivileged
members of the society. The holy month of Ramadan is a perfect opportunity
to share our good fortune and show our appreciation for the continued
success of Sherwoods as a premier provider of real estate services in
the UAE," said Iseeb Rehman, Managing Director, Sherwoods Independent
Property Consultants.
Dr. Mahshid Salehi, Director, DCSN said: "We are genuinely grateful
to Sherwoods for its generous support to the programs of Dubai Centre
for Special Needs. We are confident that this partnership will make a
huge difference in the lives of the children, enabling us to help the
kids develop into responsible and contributing members of the society.
Moreover, aside from securing cash donations from kind-hearted individuals
and organisations, Sherwoods and DCSN aim to encourage the public to be
more involved in charitable activities through the volunteer program or
by just simply spending time with the kids."
In addition to the financial windfall, Sherwoods has also coordinated
with DCSN to organise trips to visit the centre to further boost public
awareness of the requirements and importance of caring for people with
special needs. Sherwoods' marketing division has likewise assisted DCSN
in developing advertising and fundraising campaigns, while Sherwoods is
also looking at other joint initiatives to further improve the performance
of the charitable non-government institution.
Currently, DCSN looks after students with learning disabilities, hearing
impairment, autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and Down's Syndrome, among others.
Students of the special care centre range from 3 ½ to 24 years
in age.
Founded in 1988 in the UK by Iseeb Rehman, Sherwoods has been expanding
its global presence with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah,
Sharjah, Doha, Bahrain, Moscow and London with more regional headquarters
expected to open soon. Sherwoods offers a full range of real estate services,
including sales, consultancy and valuation.
