There are two types of real property taxes, on developed and on undeveloped land. Tax on developed Real Estate is assessed on the value or the real property that has been developed or improved. Tax on undeveloped real property is only assessed on rural land. Both tax rates are fixed by the local governments each year.

Mortgage in France
As a foreigner buying property in France, we recommend that you finance your purchase through a French bank. Sherwoods has connections with French banks and can help you get credit you would not necessarily get by yourself. French banks will ensure the loan by mortgaging the property being purchased. A French loan will amount, with the help of our company, to a maximum of 80% of the purchase price mentioned in the sale deed. In the case of a leaseback program, you can borrow up to 80% of the purchase price, 19.6% VAT included, which adds up to 95% of what you actually pay.
